The 3rd Annual International Conference «Contemporary Medical Centres. Investments. Equipment. Personnel», which is aimed at the discussion of the healthcare system problems and development prospects of the Russian Federation, was held on October the 14th – 15th in Saint Petersburg.

The participants have visited Saint Petersburg medical centres on the first day of the Conference, on October the 14th. They have visited the Federal Almazov Medical Research Centre including the treatment and rehabilitation complex №2, the construction of which had been finished at the beginning of 2015. The height of the complex is 20 floors; it is equipped with a helipad in emergency and urgent transplant delivery cases. The excursion to the opened in May 2015 multidisciplinary centre Scandinavia “North Clinic” has been organized for the participants of the Conference as well. The day has been finished with the visit to the DTC IIBS Centre of radiosurgery, radiotherapy and oncology. Radio surgical installation equipment Gamma Knife and robotized system Cyber Knife have been demonstrated to the participants of the Conference. These equipments provide an opportunity to render medical aid to the patients with a high risk of complication development after surgery invasion.

The business part of the Conference has been held on October the 15th. It was attended by around 100 specialists and experts in medical sphere. The Deputy Chairman of the Healthcare Committee of Saint Petersburg Yana Kabushka has opened the Conference with the welcoming speech.

Key topics of the Conference:

Slava Khodko, Development Director of EMG/ESB LLC and Adviser on Methodological Support for the Roscongress Foundation Activities, in collaboration with Alexander Stuglev, Director of the Roscongress Foundation, published the Scientific-Methodological Manual “Event Project Management (Forums, Congresses, Conferences, Seminars)”. It acquaints the reader with the complex mechanism of preparing and conducting major turnkey congress events. The authors of the manual share the fundamental personal and best international experience in major international events organization, both in Russia and abroad.

The manual is intended for a wide range of professionals in business events organization. The publication contains detailed instructions to organize and conduct congress events, as well as a lot of background information, including standards of congress activities, examples of management documentation sets, modern event management software, a list of congress venues in St. Petersburg and Moscow, and much more.

On 3 September, a conference under the title “A Common Economic Space from the Atlantic to the Pacific. The Greater Eurasian Partnership” was held on the fields of the EEF-2019 in Vladivostok. Slava Khodko, Development Director of EMG/ESB LLC, participated in the Conference as a moderator of two sessions.

In the conclusion of the plenary session, new participants have joined the Memorandum of Cooperation and Joint Action to Promote the Idea of Pan-European Integration from Lisbon to Vladivostok, that was signed for the first time in 2016. The EMG/ESB LLC has joined the Memorandum as well.

On 22 January, a Business Breakfast of the Congress Organizers under the title “The Tendencies” was held on the sidelines of EFEA-2020 in Saint Petersburg. People who affect significantly the development of the congress industry in Russia, gathered together in a relaxed atmosphere for the first time. The Breakfast was moderated by Slava Khodko, Development Director of EMG/ESB LLC, a territorial marketing specialist and experienced congressional practitioner.

The main focus of the discussion was made on the congress events impact on the territories and industries development. Participants shared their experience in attracting major events to the regions. The discussion was attended by representatives from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Ekaterinburg, Sochi, Crimea, and other Russian cities and regions.

The Business Breakfast was finished by the signing of the Agreement of Intent between MAKO Congress Management LLC, EMG/ESB LLC and Strana-Reinfo LLC to promote Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sochi as leading congress centers in Russia.

The Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs developed and published on its website a Memorandum on the necessity to support congress and exhibition activities as a strategically important industry for Russia. The Memorandum is addressed to the Government of the Russian Federation. It contains a request to develop and provide a set of short-term and long-term support measures to congress and exhibition companies and to contribute to the further normalization of the situation in the event industry, that was seriously affected by the quarantine imposed due to the spread of Covid-19.

The document was signed by the President of the Russian CCI Sergey Katyrin, the President of the RUEF Sergey Voronkov, the director of the Russian Convention Bureau Alexey Kalachev and other top managers of organizations involved in the event industry. In total, at the moment the Memorandum has collected almost 300 signatures.

EMG/ESB LLC has also supported the initiative of the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs and signed a Memorandum on the necessity to support congress and exhibition activities as a strategically important industry for Russia.

On 27 October 2021, the Territorial Marketing Conference was held in St. Petersburg.

The conference provided a site to discuss the key issues of implementing strategies for social and economic territorial development by means of territorial marketing and, as a result, improving the quality of life, attracting tourists, developing entrepreneurship, attracting investment, and increasing exports.

The event has become an effective platform to consider topics that are an integral part of city administrations and profit companies aimed to achieve prosperity.

Within the business program, such industry professionals as Sergey Korneev, Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development of St. Petersburg, Irina Karelina, General Director of Leontievskiy Center, Alexander Potekhin, Director of the TASS St. Petersburg Regional Information Center, Blake Anderson-Buntz, General Director of Hospitality Management, Mikhail Sadchenkov, General Director of National Brand LLC and others shared their expert opinions.

The conference was attended by representatives of relevant ministries of the Russian Federation and federal agencies, associations and unions, leading experts in the field of national image formation, branding, strategic planning and marketing of territories.

The event was held as part of the third day of the XIX All-Russian Forum Strategic Planning in the Regions and Cities of Russia and was supported by the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
